The children at Edgewood Ranch attend
school on campus in an accelerated curriculum that is individualized and
integrates positive character traits into their education. It is a goal for the
children to return to their former schools and classrooms not just on grade
level, but with honesty, respect and integrity.
The majority of students entering Edgewood's school are behind one to three
years in at least one subject. Many have mild to moderate learning disabilities
which are diagnosed and worked with. A large number of children arrive reading
very poorly if at all. Through the help of a staff reading specialist
they increase their skills and comprehension, opening a whole new world to
them.

| Each new student is thoroughly
evaluated and placed in each of five subjects at grade levels appropriate to
the child's abilities and past performance. He then works at his own pace in a
classroom with an average of ten children per teacher. Where appropriate, a
student may work one-on-one with a tutor.
Many children return to school up with or ahead of their peers. It is possible
for others to make up certain courses in which they have fallen behind. A child
who tests high enough and becomes motivated may do three years academic work in
two years, thereby making up a grade which he or she has failed.
This remarkable educational experience does more than just help the children
academically to achieve their appropriate grade level and work toward their
academic potential. It also increases their self-image and helps their parents
see them and their abilities in a more positive perspective.
